Blah

Indigo Incarnates

I always end up feeling "blah" when Doug is away. This week I had the added bonus of keeping an eye on a sick Dog. Lola's doing better, but I've figured out that the reason she has refused to eat for two days is that she associates getting sick with the dog food she ate. I have to get a different brand on Wednesday on payday. For now, she greedily gobbled up a hot dog, so I know her appetite is okay. She also had some leftover mac and cheese. I suppose those are pretty safe things to feed to a canine.

I also have to pick up ant traps. Every summer (except one) we got swarmed with ants. The exception was last summer when we got swarmed with gnats. This year the gnats are absent but the ants are back with a vengeance. For some reason, ants seem to prefer cat food above everything else. My clever idea was to float a small bowl of cat food inside a larger bowl filled with water. The cats seem to not mind and the ants have been frustrated in that regard. Of course, that doesn't stop them from trying in vain. Egads, they are relentless!

I also attended one of the most boring meetings ever. It was a meeting about formatting the next Dept of Corrections newsletter. Ariel vs Tahoma; 12 point vs 10 point; etc etc. The thrills just went on and on.

At least the dog is feeling better.

Hey Kiddo! Sorry to have missed your calls! I got back from NY today - was staying with my Dad while stepmom went to her sister's wedding (Dad is not too mobile at this point, but he seems to be getting better, thank goodness).
Anyway, sorry to have missed you - can't wait to read the next installment!

oh - quick PS - don't know if you have a mr. Coffee type of coffemaker, but the ants nests really love to settle in those things - if they're in there, you might be able to get rid of the ants by getting rid of the coffee maker - that's what happened to us!
